Berkshire library receives grant from Senior Citizens Foundation

(October 2016 – Tioga County Courier)

The Berkshire Free Library has been awarded a grant of $500 by the Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation to help fund the purchase of large print and audio books.

These formats have been very popular, especially with the library’s older patrons.
A previous Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation grant of $1,300 has been matched with funds from the library’s Patch Family Trust and a recently received NYS Library Construction Grant, for the purpose of a new handicapped accessible ramp, covered landing and sidewalk.

The present ramp at the library is approximately 20 years old and is in deteriorating condition. Work is scheduled to begin soon on this project.

The Berkshire Free Library serves the Berkshire and Richford community and is part of the Finger Lakes Library System.
